Summer Camp

TUOI Summer Day Camp 2020 Registration

PRINT VERSION

TUOI would be open to create new groups specifically for English-speaking children and teens; we therefore invite parents to mention, upon registration, if their child would benefit from such services. Such groups will be put in place if a sufficient number of similar requests are received and adequate pairings are possible. If not, English-speaking participants will be offered services in French or in bilingual environments, as we have done in the past.

About the activities:
TUOI’s summer camps are specialized day camps for persons with autism, between the ages of 5 and 21.

The participants are assigned to groups according to their age, their development level and their needs in terms of supervision. The program’s goals focus on social integration, social skills and developing independence through structured activities.

When will it take place?
The summer day camp begins on July 6th  and ends on August 13th 2020.
Groups meet from Monday through Thursday, from 9 am to 4 pm.
Participants are required to attend the initial meet and greet scheduled in mid-June (more details to come).

Where does it take place?
The day camp will be held at the Gabrielle Roy campus of the Cégep de l’Outaouais (in the Hull sector).

Who can sign up?
These activities are for anyone over the age of 5 who have completed at least one full year in a schooling environment. The family must have also paid its membership fees for this current year.

How much will it cost?
A full-time registration is now mandatory (4 days/week, Monday through Thursday) to access the summer day camp. The weekly rate is $120 per week (about $30 per day).

The contract to be signed and the invoice will be sent to you. The invoice can be paid in two instalments: The first payment is required on June 9th, while the second must be paid half-way through the summer day camp. These fees are payable with either cash, check, Interac transfer or credit cards (details will be on the invoice).

How do I register?
Subscription period will be held from March 13th to March 22nd 2020.
To register your child, you must fill up the form available on our website (www.traitdunionoutaouais.com).
The form will be available starting March 13th at 6pm.

If you have problems registering online or if you do not have access to the Internet, you can always book an appointment by calling our office at 819-595-1290 ext. 21 in order to fill out the registration form with the help of one of our employees.

Which group is right for my child?
REMINDER: Full-time registration is now mandatory (4 days/week, Monday through Thursday).

SUMMER 2020 INFORMATIONS

How will the place be attributed?
The new internal procedure for allocating places will be applied according to the number of requests received. (Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Regarding New Procedures)

  • A 3-week camp limit will be applied to the first round of allocated places among all applications received.
  • Weeks may be added in a second round, depending on the number of available places and according to specific prioritization criteria (date and time of reception of the forms, continuity of services, limited access to other camps, natural families, etc.) to the participant who did attend summer camp 2019.
  • Weeks may be added in a third round, depending on the number of available places and according to specific prioritization criteria (date and time of reception of the forms, continuity of services, limited access to other camps, natural families, etc.) to the participant who did not attend summer camp 2019.

What are the next steps?
Within a maximum of 30 business days following the end of the registration period, TUOI will mail the registration agreement confirming the weeks of registration to the participant’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

The parent or legal guardian must either mail or return the signed contract to our offices by no later than June 7th, 2020.
